Kids Company, Help is for Heroes – they should not need to exist!

Charities..

When John Major established The National Lottery in 1994 the theory behind it was clear.

In an interview he explained: “My original vision for the Lottery was to fund a renaissance in sport, the arts and our heritage“.  Tony Blair seemed to support the idea of the ‘people’s lottery, but added : “We don’t believe it would be right to use lottery money to pay for things which are the Government’s responsibilities.”

He was right. And so it is with charities.

Kids Company

“At Kids Company we never give up on a child”. The reason they have to do this is presumably because the government has done.

By paying Kids Company large amounts of money it is a way of abrogating their responsibilities and assuaging their guilt.

So £46 million went from the Governments coffers, and I would imagine most of it did a lot of good to a lot of people.

They probably did more good with the money  than :-

  • The NHS IT system fiasco launched in 2002  wasted £9.8 billion (probably nearer £12 billion) of tax payers money.
  • The tax payer funded subsidy for MP’s food and drink in Parliament costs us £6 million each year yet MP’s earn more than £67,000 a year, with a substantial allowance and pension package on top. Why must taxpayers (averaging just £22,000 a year) subsidise their wine, beer and food? (source – the4thagenda.co.uk)

Trident, Id cards and the selling of our gold, at an historically low price, add to up to a grand total of another £100 billion.

£46 million to help a lot of kids? Money well spent!

Help is for Heroes

If the armed services recruits a soldier, and then sends him/her into a dangerous war zone, then it is the Government’s responsibility to look after that soldier. To try to keep that soldier safe, by giving him all the protection that modern armour and vehicles can provide. In the Iraq war and Afghanistan this clearly wasn’t the case. There were numerous reports of severe shortage of equipment (and in some cases, food) for our brave boys and girls on the front line.

So – the soldier suffers horrendous injuries. Limbs are lost, flesh is burnt. It then becomes the Governments DUTY to look after their employee, in the best way possible. A failure to do so is a gross dereliction of that DUTY. Help is for Heroes, should not need to exist. They are their picking up the work that the Government should be doing.

Tony Blair, War Crimes, Iraq and Nazis

A 91-year-old woman who worked at Auschwitz has been charged with complicity in the murders of at least 260,000 Jews during the second world war, the German news agency DPA has said.

The woman, worked as a telegraph operator.

During the first four years of the Iraq War it is estimated that between 151,000 to over one million Iraqis died as a result of conflict during this time.

If the Chilcot Inquiry determines that the Iraq War was illegal, will it be declared as a War Crime?

If its declared as a War Crime, will the servicemen who helped in the illegal war be subject to similar prosecutions?

Diesel cars: Tax Changes should take place

diesel

With some diesel cars emitting up to 20 times the legal limits on harmful pollutants, is it time to move to a cleaner fuel?

Take a look at the Honda CRV.

Buy a Diesel Honda CRV 1.6 i-DTEC SR 160PS and you will be in band E because the amount of CO2 output is 139 and your NGC rating (Next Green Car) will be 39. How much a year? £130.

Buy a Petrol Honda CRV 2.0 i-VTEC SR 155PS and you will be in band I because the amount of CO2 output is 177 and your NGC rating (Next Green Car) will be 49. How much a year? £225.

Nowhere is there any mention of particulate matter or Nitrous Oxide which belches out of diesel cars. Oxford Street in London is one of the unhealthiest places for a pedestrian to walk, because the levels of both are so high.

Owners of diesel cars ought to be paying far more than owners of Petrol cars

N2O is a greenhouse gas with a large global warming potential (GWP). When compared to carbon dioxide (CO2), N2O has 298 times the ability per molecule of gas to trap heat in the atmosphere.

CyberCrime – Its the Banks that Need to Stop this

banks

Talktalk have had the banking and personal details of millions of customers stolen, and therefore many current and previous customers have been compromised.

Now in the media, customers are being warned what they must do.. watch out for having their identities hijacked.. watch out for emails from people purporting to be TalkTalk, even though TalkTalk will in fact be emailing their customers.

Problems like this have happened before, and will happen again.

For this to be profitable for the criminal, its the next phase that is important. The criminal must now get money from the customers account, and place it into their own. They need the banks to do this, and the banks will.

A woman in Lymington unwittingly gave her debit card details to a ‘I am from Microsoft’ scammer, to pay them £30 to fix her computer remotely. She realised her mistake half an hour after making it, and contacted her bank, cancelled the card, and then visited her bank branch. They said that £450 had been requested from Western Union, but had not yet left her account. Despite knowing the transaction was fraudulent they said THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT! There is a rule in banking that once money is ‘promised’ between banks it must be delivered.

That money left her account, went to another account and probably left that one and went via several jumps to other accounts. At each stage the banking industry has an account through which the money is moving, and attached to each account in the chain is a name and address. What do they do about it.. seemingly nothing. The last place the money ends up must be the perpetrator of the crime, or someone in close partnership.

Lets tackle this crime properly. Follow the money and get it back! Make it impossible for someone to have a bank account which is unverified.
